Throwback to the Holes Book (Chapter 31 - 50)

*On the past few weeks, my class and I which is Ibu Megan's class were assigned to read a book about holes and here is my summary of the holes from chapter 31 - 50.


        After that incident, zero decided to ran away from camp green lake. Stanley looked at Zero as he disappeared to the haze. Stanley was really mad to everyone especially himself. He is regretting the teaching trade. He suppose not to let Zero dig his hole as if Zero has the strength to dig his hole and part of Stanley’s and also study well, why couldn’t Stanley dig his own hole and teach Zero well. Finally, Stanley is the one who dig Zero’s hole after he is gone as nobody wants to dig Zero’s hole. Stanley keeps wondering should he go after zero or should he just stay in Camp Green Lake. He keeps thinking if Zero might reach the god’s thumb and found a water source there. The next day, there’s still no sign of Zero and finally the warden asks Mr. Pendanski to erase all of Zero’s data from the camp’s records so that no authority will know that he was at the camp. Soon, they found out that Zero is the ward of state and it’s useless to erase his data as nobody will care about him. Two days later, Twitch came in to replace Zero. He is arrested for stealing cars and sent to camp green lake. When canteen truck is arrived, Stanley got an idea to steal the truck and hunt for zero. He then confidently jump to the truck and try to steal the car. Twitch shout for advices as Stanley starts the truck. Finally he can make the car move for a while and he crash the car into a hole. He then runs off the truck getting further from the camp.

He continues to run and look for Zero. As he walks, he keeps seeing holes and every time he was passing a hole, he was hoping that zero was not in that hole. He then found one hole that contains a family of yellow spotted lizards. He is terrified and runs faster. He then found a sack of sunflower seed with only one seed inside it. He keeps thinking if he should go back to the camp or keep walking to find zero. He keep walking towards a shape that he thinks are the mountains but not so long after he saw that, he found a boat half buried in the dried lake with a tunnel leading underneath the boat. The boat’s name is Mary Lou. It turns out that inside the boat is Zero. Stanley was happy to find Zero was still alive. Zero doesn’t want to go back to the camp and he told Stanley a drink named “sploosh” that made him survive until now. Stanley wanted to drink the sploosh to as he was so thirsty but he was scared to drink such old water as it may contain a lot of bad bacteria. He and Zero then went out of the boat and look at the big thumb. They started to walk towards the mountain and keep on thinking who Mary Lou is. As they get closer to the mountain, the terrain also getting harder. Then they help each other to climb the mountain. They keep hiking and getting closer to the big thumb until Zero passed out and Stanley can’t wake him up.

Stanley decided to carry Zero and keep hiking until they fell into a muddy ground which make Stanley realize that there’s must be water somewhere around that place. He keeps on digging the mud and found dirty water inside it. He also found an onion inside the mud and give halve of the onion to Zero and Zero starts to be more conscious. The next day, Zero was getting more conscious but still very sick. He then told Stanley that he was the one who stole Clyde Livingston’s shoe. At that time, Stanley still didn’t understand what was Zero talking about. For the next few days, they survive with dirt water and onions. Stanley decided to take the sploosh jar and the shovel that he left on the bottom part of the mountain. He realized that he is now really strong that with all of his tiredness, he can still go down to mountain and get back up to the place where he and Zero sleep just now. After Zero getting even better than before, he decided to tell the story how he stole Clyde’s shoe. Stanley was not too angry at that time, as he was happy to met Zero in the camp. They then decided to go back to the camp. They walk towards the camp and took a break in the Mary Lou’s semi-buried boat. As they get nearer to the camp, they decided to dig a hole to find a treasure. Stanley decided to dig a hole where he found the lipstick tube. They dig the hole and finally discover a metal suitcase. Just before they complete digging the hole, suddenly there’s a bright light shining to them.

It’s the warden and her crew who shines the flashlight to them. Stanley and Zero got busted by the warden but suddenly, yellow spotted lizards were starting to came out of the suitcase and covers both of Stanley and Zero’s body. The Lizards wont bite theme as their blood were mixed with onions and those lizards didn’t like onion. As the sun came up, the lizards are starting to crawl away from their bodies and at the same time, a woman from the city official approaches Stanley to tell that he is released from the camp as he is proved innocent and he will be brought home with the woman from the city official. Before the city official brought Stanley away from the camp, Stanley wanted to meet his friends in Camp Green Lake for the last time and say goodbye. He also wants Zero to be released too and brought home together with Stanley. The city officials approved that both of them were released. After Stanley went home, he found out that his father’s invention works with the sploosh that Stanley brought from the camp. His father was now an inventor of foot odorless machine. It was called “Sploosh” as one of the ingredients was peach. Clyde Livingston was also becomes the star of the commercial. Yelnats’ curse was lifted too as Stanley (Which is Yelnats’ generation) carries Zero (Which is Madame Zeroni’s generation) up to the mountain and sings the lullaby. Camp Green Lake was also now changed into a Girl Scout Camp, as Camp Green Lake is not suitable anymore to receive kids.

Throwback to The Holes Book Chapter 1 to 30

The Holes Summary (Chapter 1 – 30)

*On the past few weeks, my class and I which is Ibu Megan's class were assigned to read a book about holes and here is my summary of the holes from chapter 1 - 30.

Stanley moves towards the court and listens to the judge choices. The judge said, “You have 2 choices! The first one is to go to prison and the second one is to go to camp green lake.” Stanley directly thought that obviously camp green lake is better than prison. He took the second choice, which is to go to camp green lake. He packed his things and went to the camp. He rode the police bus and on the way to Camp Green Lake. He was just staring on the environment around him. He arrived and he was just shocked by the dry and hot lake. He was being introduced by the camp people and explained about what he should do there.

Everyday he made new friends and getting used to his new environment. Day by day he dig holes and got stronger and stronger as he keep digging deep holes. Everyday he always being reminded by the warden and Mr. Sir that they dig holes to build characters. On the first few days of Stanley, he always believed that it’s not his fault to be on Camp Green Lake as it was his ugly rotten great – great – grandfather’s faults.

Stanley’s great – great grandfather is Elya Yelnats. When Stanley was a boy, his great - great grandfather exchange for a promise with Madame Zeroni. The deal was to carry Madame Zeroni up to the mountain and sing the song that was taught by her and after he did that, he will get the pig. Elya broke the promise and he believed that he was cursed by Madam Zeroni as he broke the promise and the curse passed down to Yelnats family and one of the victim of the curse is Stanley Yelnats him selves.

            Along time ago before Stanley arrives at Camp Green Lake specifically one hundred and ten years ago, Green Lake is a beautiful town with blooming peach trees. On that town, there was a teacher called Katherine Barlow who falls in love with a black man called Sam the onion seller.  At that time, there’s a law that a black man can’t kiss a white woman, as it’s inappropriate back then. They ignored that law and kiss each other. Trout Walker who was the richest man on that town mad at them as he already falls in love with Katherine. Trout spread the words to the villagers and they start to attack the school that Katherine worked on and Sam. Katherine directly knew the attack and ran to the sheriff to find help.

Eventually, the sheriff was also tries to attack Sam. Katherine and Sam ran away from the attack by boat but it was to late and the attackers could catch the boat and killed Sam. Katherine gone wild and killed the sheriff. After that incident, Katherine was considered as an outlaw called Kissin’ Kate Barlow. From the time Sam was killed, there was no rain came down from the sky on Green Lake and the lake dries out.

As Katherine Barlow was now an outlaw, he kept robbing people and one of the victims was Stanley’s great grandfather. She stole his money and buried that in to the ground. Charles Walker and his wife tried to find out where the money was but it was to late as Katherine Barlow died before anyone knew where the money was.

The town keeps drying from time to time and at the same time, the town became a death town. Stanley always had a hard time digging the holed as he was digging on a dry and hard surface with an incredibly hot environment. Stanley became best friends with X-ray as he was the head of the camp. He even ever gave a precious thing he found to X-ray so he could get a break. As day-by-day Stanley went through, he met a new best friend, which is Zero. Zero really wanted to learn how to read and they made a deal. Zero will dig some of Stanley’s holes and Stanley will teach Zero how to read. That way was just fine until Zig Zag was disturbing Stanley. They finally fight and Zero chocked Zig Zag as Zero was trying to save Stanley.

The camp crew gathered and finally the teaching trading was revealed. One of the camp crew called Mr. Pendanski teased Zero as he thinks that there’s no way that Zero could study stuff because he was so stupid. Zero was really mad at that time and smashed Mr. Pendanski face with a shovel until he was unconscious. Zero was ordered to come to the warden’s office as he was in a big trouble. While Zero was away, the warden still expects the group to keep digging 7 holes even though Zero was away.

GJIS Cultural Exchange Program 2014

In the year 2014, Global Jaya International School held a cultural exchange program to Azerbaijan. The school had plan this program from April 2014. From the beginning of the program, I've joined the practices and meeting. I would say that I never miss any practice or briefing that was held for this program. The first thing that we did was joining the audition. The audition was about knowing our skills and ability so the instructors could know who dance what and who sing what. The second thing that we did was to know each other. We get to know who were the supervisors for this program, the instructors, and who among our school mate join this program.

Day by day I was joining the practice with full excitement and commitment. One day, Ibu Rasti (one of the GJISCEP supervisor) chose me to be the Documentation Director of this year's GJISCEP. I was really happy at that time because one of my hobby is to create videos. Having one more position means that more work should be done. Almost every tuesday and thursday, we went home really late. We practiced 2 hours per day and 2 times per week and as time goes on, we practice 2 hours per 2 week days and 4 hours per 1 week end. So in 1 week, we practiced around 8 hours. As time goes on, the D day was getting closer. We practice more and more to achieve a good result. Besides that practice time, I also need to consult about the documentary that I worked on to the advisors which was Ibu Rasti. Almost every once a week I consult to her and talk about the documentary. It's a lot of work but I believed that there's a good result coming if you worked hard on it. 

GJIS Art Fest 2014

On May 2014, my school which is GJIS held an art concert called "Art Festival". All classes from year 1 until year 12 join the concert. At that time I was year 6A and my class and I play the song "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera in instrumental version. There were 2 sessions on the 2014 GJIS Art Fest. The first one is for primary years which is from morning until afternoon while for the secondary years, they got the time from afternoon until evening. I was asked by Pak Andy (2013 - 2014 Head of Arts Department) to perform 2 times in the Art Fest. So I perform in the morning and evening.

One Book, One Topic

Today during my English lesson, me and my friends are assigned to read some random books in English. This time I read a book about photography. In that book, I found a lot of information and techniques about photography. From angles till exposures. I did know some of this stuffs before as I had already done some lessons on photography and joined some photography competitions, but this time I learn a little more information about the techniques of photography. One of the techniques that I had learned from the book is how to control the lighting for studio photo. I'll rate this book 4 out of 5 and I really recommend this book to people who are interested in photography.

Ivory Grateful Concert Team

Hi Ms. Meggan Hoddinott, thank you for commenting about my last post. Ivory Grateful Concert is a program that is created by Ivory Music School for their students. The name Ivory came from the Ivory Music School. These concert programs had already held for a long time and every program always involved Ivory Music School students' to participate. This time, Ivory Grateful Concert program brings their team to Esplanade Concert Hall - Singapore. Previously this Esplanade program started, there are more than 30 candidates but now, there are only 13 students including me who passed 6 auditions and 1 final audition.

My Blog - Myself

Hi Guys, My name is Jason. I know that I've post something before but the weird thing is, I haven't tell you about my self. So let me introduce myself. My name is Jason and welcome to my blog. I really like music especially piano and orchestra. Most of my friends knew that I'm pretty good in playing piano but every time they say that to me, I always say that music is not my goal of life. It's just my hobby that makes me happy and relax. My goal of life is to be a doctor. Music does made me a better person. I've join a concert team which is "Ivory Grateful Concert Team". This program build my music skills, and my confidence skills. This program also brings me to a lot of concerts in Indonesia. I've joined 7 concerts and 5 of them are the roadshows to Ivory's 8th birthday concert in Esplanade Concert Hall - Singapore. I've created a youtube channel called "JSS Production" which mostly contains me playing my piano.

As I said before, my goal of my life is to be a doctor. Maybe people who know my piano skills will wonder why I wanna be a doctor rather than a pianist. That's why I write something about me on this post. The reason why I wanna be a great doctor is because not only my parents direct me into it but also because my will to cure people. To fulfil some basic skills before I went deeper later in the University, I did some trainings on medical skills like CPR and AED training. I'm now a certified person to do CPR and AED for Infant, Child, and Adult. I took the ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute) training on my 2014 summer vacation. From the training that I had did, I hope that it will help me later on in my University life.
